What Castforge is

Castforge is a desktop application that connects to the official AI provider CLIs (Anthropic Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Google Gemini) you've already authenticated yourself. Castforge wraps those CLIs in a unified workspace; it does not interact with the AI providers on its own.

You bring your own API key or supported subscription sign-in

Your interactions with Claude, Codex, or Gemini are governed by your agreement with that AI provider. Castforge is a thin client over those provider sessions. If you violate Anthropic's, OpenAI's, or Google's Terms of Service while using Castforge, that's between you and them. By signing in to a provider through Castforge, you confirm you've read and accepted that provider's ToS.

AI provider availability

If an AI provider changes their terms in a way that prohibits subscription-wrapping, Castforge will suspend subscription-wrap mode for the affected agent and surface a “Switch to API key” option in-app. Your alternative API-key authentication remains fully supported. We will suspend subscription-wrap mode promptly when a provider's policy changes; we do not warrant continuous subscription-wrap availability for any particular AI provider.

Your code is yours

Your code, prompts, and AI responses belong to you. Castforge claims zero rights to your content. We don't read it, transmit it, or store it on our servers. Your code is yours, your prompts are yours, and the responses you get from your AI provider are yours, Castforge is just the conduit.

Billing and refunds (if paid plans are introduced)

Castforge is free during early access, so there is nothing to pay today and no card is required. The terms in this section apply if and when Castforge introduces paid plans after early access. At that point, any Castforge subscription would be billed by Stripe, and if you subscribe your card would be charged on the date you supply it and on the same date each month or year thereafter.

14-day refund pledge (PRICE-04): if and when paid plans exist, within 14 days of your first purchase you can email support@castforge.ai for a full refund, no questions asked. After 14 days, we prorate the remainder of your current period if you reach out. Cancellation is one click from the Stripe customer portal inside the app.

Marketplace (Discover)

Discover currently ships as catalog + Remix (free) only. Paid listings and Stripe Connect payouts are planned for a future release. When paid listings ship, Castforge takes 12% / sellers keep 88% with monthly payouts via Stripe Connect. Sellers are responsible for their project's license, support, and tax handling.

Service availability

Castforge is provided as-iswith no uptime guarantee at v1. We host the marketing site and API endpoints on Vercel and the status page on Cloudflare Pages, separate infrastructure so a Vercel outage doesn't take down our status reporting. Status is published at status.castforge.ai.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Castforge disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Castforge's total liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Acceptable use

Don't use Castforge to do anything illegal. Don't use it to reverse-engineer or circumvent the AI providers' authentication systems, that's the surest way to get both you and Castforge kicked off the platforms we depend on. Don't share your Castforge account with other people; subscriptions are per-person.

Termination

We may suspend your account if you abuse the service or violate an AI provider's ToS in a way that puts Castforge at risk (e.g. automating subscription-mode in a way that triggers provider-side fraud detection). You can cancel any time from the Stripe customer portal; we do not gate cancellation. Suspension or termination does not entitle you to a refund of prepaid amounts unless required by law.

Disputes & governing law

Disputes go through binding arbitration in Montréal, Québec, under the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. You may opt out within 30 days of accepting these terms by emailing legal@castforge.ai with subject “Arbitration opt-out”.

Changes to these terms

We'll update this page when material changes happen and email registered users at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Castforge after the effective date is your acceptance of the new terms. If you don't accept the new terms, cancel your subscription before the effective date and we will refund any prepaid period.
